Drug and Alcohol Treatment for Boys
- Delinquent and/or dependent male youth between the ages of 13-18+ who are in need of substance abuse treatment.*
- IQ of 70 or above (will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).

- Delinquent and/or dependent male youth between the ages of 13-18+ with a history of significant aggression, violent behavior and/or habitual criminal activity.

Social Training and Education Program (STEP)

Program provides social skill development and substance abuse education/prevention to male youth between the ages of 13-18+ with a strong emphasis on life skill development and Balanced and Restorative Justice.

*Fully funded by Managed Care for Pennsylvania youth who meet the requirements for this level of treatment (ASAM Level III.1 or III.5).

Located in the Allegheny National Forest, Abraxas I is a 200-bed staff secure residential facility with four service tracks. Abraxas I has developed a comprehensive approach to treatment designed to impact youth in the interrelated areas of substance use/abuse, socialization, education/vocation, family, delinquency/criminality and victim impact. All program activites are viewed as treatment and provide opportunities for growh and the development of competencies.
Abraxas I operates a private licensed school which offers a unique blend of solid core academic courses, elective classes, vocational programs and Butler County Community College courses. Clients may earn a high school diploma, participate in on and off-site career and technical education programming, receive job readiness training, participate in GED instruction and testing and take the SAT.
Restitution and community service opportunities are available to all youth.
Abraxas I offers male residents the opportunity to participate in PIAA football, wrestling and track and female residents have the opportunity to play softball through a partnership with Sheffield Area High School.
