  • Long term and 90-Day General Residential treatment

Located on an 80-acre campus in North Central Ohio, Abraxas Ohio is a children’s residential center that offers four service tracks. All Abraxas Ohio clients have the opportunity to participate in an on-site accredited high school or GED program, and can pursue continuing education options. In addition, all clients receive individual, group and family counseling and have community services opportunities available to them.

The drug and alcohol programs provide comprehensive treatment and education for clients who have experienced significant disruption in their lives as a result of alcohol or other drug use. The longer term program contains up to 90 residential beds and incorporates an intensive group curriculum focusing on decision making, goal setting, self esteem, sex education and relapse process/prevention. The 90-day intensive residential unit has 18 beds and treatment centers around the disease concept, the progression and impact of the disease, defense mechanisms, communication skills, relapse prevention, aftercare planning and re-entry into the community.

The General Residential treatment unit emphasizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes the Thinking Errors approach. Clients receive anger management and abuse/trauma services and are taught independent living skills, strategies for positive self-expression and strategies for avoiding violent behaviors. A drug sellers curriculum is also available.
