The Abraxas Open Residential Firesetter/Sex Offender Program is a 24-bed, staff-secure treatment program for delinquent and/or dependent male juveniles, between the ages of 11 to 16 years old.  The facility is located in South Mountain, PA (20 miles west of Gettysburg).  The program offers variable lengths of stay, between 12 to 18 months.  A 60-day diagnostic period is also offered to provide an individualized needs assessment.

All clients receive an individualized assessment, individualized service plan, and medical screening upon admission.  Clients participate in an intensive group curriculum focusing on drugs and alcohol, aggression replacement training, thinking errors, social skills, violence prevention, fire safety and Balanced and Restorative Justice.  Clients will also participate in issue specific curriculums whether their history involves firesetting and/or sexual offending.  The firesetter and sex offender group curriculums are facilitated by trained professionals that include licensed counselors and a clinical coordinator with oversight directly from a licensed psychologist.

The Learning Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and provides clients the opportunity to earn their GED or high school diploma.  All clients will participate in our year round education which serves grade levels 5-12 and also provides Special Education services.
