Individual sessions are conducted to address identified areas of concern and to assist the youth/family in meeting treatment goals.
Clinical groups are held once per week after school for one hour. The use of Girls’ Circle, Aggression Replacement Training, and its companion curriculum PREPARE, are research based and proven to improve client functioning in the areas of social skills, anger control, and moral reasoning. Additional groups may include adventure/enrichment activities, anti-gun violence, and/or career awareness.
Weekly family sessions utilizing the Family TIES curriculum will strengthen family functioning. Additionally, staff will cross-train the parent/guardian with the skills being taught to youth during group to allow for greater consistency in application. Staff use cognitive therapy, behavior modification, assertiveness education, parenting education, social skill development, communication skills, and problem solving skill development as interventions.
